Psychiceyeclix

Circuit bent, glitch, noise

Psychiceyeclix has a fluid approach to creation never settling on any particular style or setup, constantly experimenting with sound & visuals. Using circuit bent toys/devices & diy electronics to create anything from glitch, harsh noise to drum & bass.
At present using a symbiosis of visuals & sound as much as possible, either visuals to influence sound or vice versa.

Medial Ages by Laura Netz

DIY electronics strobe lights

The artist uses optoelectronic oscillators which produce a repetitively modulated wave. The light sources control the circuits modulating the signal. In a sound/light integration, the modulation of tone activates an interactive system based on DIY circuitry. It is a self-generated sonic machine creating a syncopated, high-pitched, noisy beep.

The Others, Wednesday, 6 March 2019 from 19:00-23:00

Artists: Sowari Modular / Slate Pipe Banjo Draggers / Rare Form / Laura Netz

Sowari Modular

Chaotic Improv Krell

For this performance Phil Durrant – aka Sowari Modular – will perform an improvisation using an extended ‘Krell Patch’. This is based on the 1959 movie Forbidden Planet, in a segment where they supposedly play the music of the ancient Krell race. When it emerges from the skronky murk, the Krell is a writhing, cavorting phantasm. In general terms, each note has a random pitch, envelope and duration. The patch links early sci-fi soundscapes with the noisy/chaotic world that we currently live in.

Slate Pipe Banjo Draggers

Sound Art Improv Cassette

The Slate Pipe Banjo Draggers is the name of the music and sound project of sound artist Andy Rowe. He creates sounds drawing from a vast collection of found, bought, self made and personally commissioned instruments and noise making devices. Andy Rowe currently performs a solo set using a selection of up to fifteen Walkmans and mini and micro-cassette players and dictaphones.

Rare Form

Dark ambient Drone Neoclassical

Rare Form employs synths, experimental guitars, tape loops, and samples to create atmospheric neoclassical drones, build ups, and crescendos.

The Others, Wednesday, 3 April 2019 from 19:00-23:00

Artists: Precocious Mouse / +777000 / TZT / Lou Barnell / Laura Netz

Precocious Mouse

Fragmented, atomic, data sonorised techno / dusty, found, minimal

Caleb Wood under the alias of ‘precocious mouse’ has been experimenting with sound as a conceptual tool since the release of his first album, ‘2_3/.dll (grey circuits)’ on the Sicilian experimental netlabel ‘Brusio’ in 2010. He has worked under the aliases ‘precocious mouse’ and ‘,’ and more recently ‘reference hardware’ exploring methods to construct pieces which have a conceptual base in the fragmentation and complexity of the processes of communication.

+777000

Code Noise Pop

+777000 is a project by Eliza Gromova-Gulbe. Their music is based around creating, extending, resurfacing and adjusting memories. By comparing memories to data, they are exploring themes and possibilities of computerising human feelings, thoughts and experiences. They use TidalCycles to create compositions but the outcome is not always limited to coding. The sonic spectrum ranges from rhythmic waves of ambient to walls of glistening noise.

TZT

Digital and hardware

Edward Griffiths aka TZT returned to sound making around 5 years ago having been a rave and club promoter in the early 90’s.
Choosing simplistic and limiting software to generate sounds (such as apps and Audacity) he builds layered pieces formed from the resulting sound artifacts. Structurally his pieces tend toward classical composition through electronic noise, rave and film music are the main stylistic influences. Currently one half of XCERO , Edward will be introducing coded elements and hardware to his set for this event.

Artists: Dubious Occupants / nagasaki45 / Era Geldes / Metalogue / Trojanovskx

Dubious Occupants

Spoken Words DIY Electronics
Dubious Occupants evoke bleak dystopian visions of socio-politico meltdown and approaching apocolypse. Whilst evoking such visions they hang some bright little plastic floral baskets and bunting, just to cheer things up a bit.

nagasaki45
Improvised Polymetric Avant-pop Modular
After playing bass guitar in rock bands for years, Tom Gurion recently started developing an improvised live electronic set under his nagasaki45 alias. He focuses on percussive, up-beat, and polymetric structures using modular synths, drums machines, and DJ gear.

Era Geldes
Experimental Musique Concrete
“Insubordinately Sublime” -Inigo Wilkins about recent concerts
Here you find songs, sounds and radio features I arrange and produce myself and some I speak and sing for. The genre is situated between postindustrial, sonic jokes and experimental pop-punk.

Metalogue
Although usually working within the parameters of industrial, IDM and breakcore, for this appearance at Sonic Electronics Metalogue will be performing a semi-improvised ambient set based around found sounds/objects, analog distortion and home-made instruments.

Trojanovskx
Trojanovskx is techno/drone/ambient/IDM live project. They have started their music journey under the name Aurelia as a regular contributor to performance art event known as The Chronic Illness of Mysterious Origin, situated at Dungeons of Polymorphous Pan, deep dark moody basement of district Holloway in London, UK. The Others, Wednesday, 5 June 2019 from 19:00-23:00

Artists: NOx / gon7o / Li Song / PURPURA / Stable

Stable – On Tour
“Glass Cheques” is the result of my ongoing mental and emotional recovery found through sobriety and part of my process of coming to terms with my childhood sexual abuse and subsequent psychological upheaval. It’s presented without ego or any sense of elitism, fundamentally all that matters is that it’s a document exhibiting my love for a hideous noise and a filthy beat.

PURPURA – On Tour
harsh soundscapes
mexican from origin based in the Jura mountains. PURPURA is an essential sonic presence by the telluric strength of her sets that blast furiously deep in the red with a joy and a sense of NOISE formidably assumed and mastered.

gon7o
is an eclectic electronic music project which crosses between sub-genres, such as ambient, breakbeat, electro, hip-hop, dub-step, vapour-wave, etc. In 2008 he released his debut album Dakstins on the Moscow-based label Lagunamuch records. Now residing in London (UK) he’s been gradually adopting the number 7 whilst chipping off those fantasy-Spanish roots. gon7o’s live multimedia performance takes you on the journey to the imaginative worlds of elements and guides you through clumps of past-present-future rhizomes.

Performing and recording internationally and creating within the field of Free-Improvisation, Spontaneous Music and Instant Composition, in Illi’s words: “one of the only, truly here-and-now art forms” he combines voice, field recordings, acoustic and electronic, ancient and modern instruments, low-tech and hi-tech processing to produces deeply penetrating sound, noise and frequencies.
Other than performance, Illi initiate and curates Sound Art and performance projects internationally

Laura Netz – Medial Dark Ages
Medial Dark Ages, a Live AV Performance by Laura Netz consisting of experimental electromagnetic power noise with DIY circuitry and a handmade synth. DIY oscillators, based on Schmitt triggers, using optoelectronic components produce a repetitively modulated wave. The strobe light controls the circuits modulating the signal. The light triggers sonic signals. In a sound/light integration, the modulation of tone activates an interactive system based on DIY. It is a self-generated sonic machine creating a syncopated, high-pitched, noisy beep. The flickering from the strobes assaults the senses to create neurological after-images. The audiences’ subconscious and altered states are activated to open experimentation of feelings and knowledge. The sound results in psychic noise music with references from a postmaterialist perspective on technology, such in James Bridle – New Dark Ages – and experiments in electronic synthesis with frequency modulation, amplitude modulation and waveshaping.
